Less than a year after his near-fatal accident at the 1976 German Grand Prix, Niki Lauda arrived at the 1977 British Grand Prix leading the driver’s World Championship in his Ferrari 312T2B. He would qualify third and finish second behind the winner, James Hunt in the McLaren and go on to win his second of three World Championships with two rounds of the season to spare.
